Convicted Sex Offender Behind Bars Again

A Levittown man has been charged with a felony for his alleged failure to update his place of employment as required under Megan's Law.

A Levittown man who pleaded guilty in 2011 to viewing and sharing child pornography on the Internet is facing a felony charge stemming from his alleged failure to report his place of employment.

Luis Anthony Shearer, 39, of Silverspruce Road, is being held in Bucks County Prison in lieu of 10 percent of $200,000 bail for allegedly failing to report within three days a job that the Pennsylvania State Police said he began in August.

Shearer, who was arraigned this week in district court on the felony charge of failing to verify the address as required under Megan's Law, allegedly stopped by the Pennsylvania State Police Trevose Barracks on Sept. 16 to attempt to update his employment information, according to court records.

Shearer, who entered guilty pleas related to the child pornography charges in December 2011 and received three years of probation, reportedly told police that he had been employed by the Langhorne Hotel as a cook for the past month. His probation officer had told Shearer to update his information, but he "just had forgotten" to do it, according to police.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for next week in district court.
