Police: Would-Be Burglar Kicks in Front Door

Incidents in both Bristol and Falls township are believed to be connected, police said.

 

A Falls Township woman received the scare of the life Tuesday morning when a man busted in the front door of her Emerald Lane home. 

The suspect is a while male in his 30s with facial hair, police said.

The homeowner heard a loud bang at her front door shortly before 10 a.m. and went to see what the commotion was. When she go to the door, she saw the man had kicked in the door, according to Falls Township police. 

Startled by the woman's scream, the man ran to a hunter green Plymouth Voyager minivan and fled the neighborhood.

Responding officers confirmed the minivan was the similar to one reported after an attempted burglary just a short time prior, police said.

A green minivan driven by a man matching the description given by the Emerald Lane homeowner was stopped a short time later by Bristol authorities along Violetwood Drive. Falls police detectives responded to the traffic stop.

As of late Tuesday evening, no arrest have been made, police said.

Falls Township police confirm that the investigation is on going.

Police in Falls are also investigating a theft from a vehicle that was reported at 2:25 p.m. Tuesday at the Diamond Check Cashing location on West Trenton Avenue.

The victim told police someone entered their parked vehicle and removed a purse. Personal information and credit cards were contained in the purse.
