Driver, Passenger Burned After Car Catches Fire on Rt. 1

The car caught fire Tuesday after it struck a guardrail when the driver was trying to avoid a three-car accident.

The driver of a car that burst into flames Tuesday on Route 1 was severely burned, Falls Township Police said. 

Both the driver and the passenger were able to get out of the car after it caught fire. They were transported to St. Mary Medical Center for treatment; their condition was not available from authorities.

Police said upon impact with the guardrail, the vehicle burst into flames.
