Fallen Firefighters to be Honored at Sunday Ceremony

The memorial service in Doylestown will honor 25 fallen firefighters, paramedics and fire police officers who have sacrificed their lives in the line-of-duty.

The Bucks County Fire Chiefs and Firefighters Association will honor 25 fallen firefighters, paramedics and fire police officers in a ceremony Sunday in Doylestown.

The memorial service, which will honor those who have sacrificed their lives in the line-of-duty, will take place at 10 a.m. in the courtyard of the Bucks County Courthouse.

Paramedic/firefighter and police officer Daniel McIntosh from the Bensalem Emergency Medical Service and fire police officer Paul Wurst from the Union Fire Company will be added to the memorial that is located in the courtyard of the Bucks County Courthouse.

Fire service and emergency medical service personnel from all over Bucks County will attend and take part in the ceremony, according to information from the Bucks County Fallen Firefighter Memorial Committee.

“This is the ninth year that this service honors those members of the Bucks County Fire Service who have made the supreme sacrifice while protecting the residents and property of Bucks County," a press release from the Bucks County Fallen Firefighter Memorial Committee said.

The memorial service will also honor the four firefighters and fire police officers from the State of Pennsylvania have been killed in the line of duty so far in 2013.
