Falls Police K-9 Helps Nab Tuesday Burglary Suspect

A police dog lead officers right to the feet of their suspect.

With the help of a Falls Township police dog, officers were able to track a burglary suspect from the scene of the crime to his house.

Morrisville resident Michael Willmer, 23, was arrested Tuesday morning and charged in connection with a burglary that was reported in the township.

According to police, Willmer entered a home when the residents were asleep and took $450 worth of items from the house.

Police Officer Thomas Lundquist and his K-9 partner, Trigger, responded to the call and began to track the scent of the suspected burglar.

The pooch and his handler followed Willmer's scent from the victimized residence to the Adler Drive home of the suspect.

The trained police dog tracked the Willmer down his driveway and right to the spot where he was standing, according to a release from Lt. Hank Ward.

Detectives questioned the 23-year-old. During the questioning, he admitted to committing and burglary and the stolen items were recovered, police said.

Felony burglary and criminal trespass are some of the charges lodged against the suspect, court records show.

Willmer was arraigned before District Justice Jan Vislosky Tuesday afternoon. He was sent to county jail in lieu of 10 percent of $250,000 bail.

The Falls police K-9 unit began in 2002. Trigger, a Belgian Malinois is also a specially trained narcotics detection dog.

I would like to say it was amazing watching these future Hall of Famers at 8 years old fightingRead More through the weather and playing the 5 games in 2 days. They were tougher than many of the adults! I remember my days with Levittown American Little League playing in the 8-9 year old division and these boys would have taken us out! It would not have been close. Great Job to all and Congrats to Team Neshaminy...do you know how hard it is to say that as a Pennsbury Grad? I look forward to the next tournament!
