2 Cars Destroyed, House Damaged in Fire; Investigation Ongoing

A fire destroyed two cars and damaged a house in Middletown during the early morning hours of Sunday.

Officials released little information Monday on the investigation into a blaze that charred two cars and damaged 68 Teal Drive in Middletown Township over the weekend.

Fire Marshal James McGuire told Patch the investigation into the cause of the fire remains under investigation by his office. The fire marshal would not comment on whether an arson was being investigated, as sources had indicated Sunday.

The homeowner told Patch called the incident was "upsetting" and said she had been asked by police to not discuss the investigation further.

Fire crews from the Langhorne, Middletown and Yardley responded to the scene Sunday and quickly were able to extinguish the flames, McGuire said. The damage to the house appeared minor, which the fire marshal confirmed.

Of the two cars destroyed in the fire, one was taken by police as part of the investigation.
