UPDATED: Flames Ravage Goldenridge Home

A fire severely damaged the two story home at 39 Grasspond Road in the Goldenridge section of Levittown shortly before 7 p.m. Saturday evening.

According to reports on PhillyFireNews.com, fire crews from the , who were first to arrive on the scene, reported heavy fire coming from the rear of the home.

A YouTube video shows fire crews from several Bristol-area fire companies working to extigiush the flames. The video appears to show the fire moving swiftly throughout the two-story house.

By Sunday, the home was boarded up and showed signs of fire damage.

A fire that left a home on Grasspond Road in the Goldenridge section of Levittown uninhabitable was caused by a candle, Bristol Township Fire Marshal Kevin Dippolito said.

The family that resides in the two-story dwelling is staying with friends and family after the accidental fire, Dippolito said.

The home suffered heavy fire damage on the first floor and severe heat and smoke damage on the second. 

The female homeowner was alone with a candle burning when she noticed the candles flames had jumped shortly after 6:45 p.m. Saturday, the fire marshal said.

Within minutes, the home was engulfed with flames and several Bristol-area fire companies were fighting to extinguish the flames.

By Sunday afternoon, a team of contractors inspected the remains of the home to determine it's fate.
