Home Care Nurse Used Client's Credit Card, Police Say

A Morrisville woman is accused of making more than $900 of purchases with a stolen credit card.

A home care nurse activated her client's credit card and used it to make more than $900 in purchases at the Tullytown Walmart, police say.

Teresa Alemhoca, 58, of Morrisville has been charged on multiple felony counts of forgery, theft and related offenses after Tullytown police arrested her on Monday.

According to police, the victim walked into the Tullytown police station on July 15 and told officers that she received a bill for a credit card that she had never activated. The receipt showed that three purchases were made at the Tullytown Walmart between June 4 and June 5, totaling $900.

According to the affidavit, when the woman saw video of the purchases obtained by police, she recognized Alemhoca, a home care nurse that had been taking care of her mother, who suffers from dementia.

The victim told police she suspected that Alemhoca took the credit card out of the mail and activated it. Police say the video also shows Alemhoca signing the victim's name on the purchase receipts.

After being taken into custody, Alemhoca prepared a written statement that said she activated the credit card, according to police. The report says that Alemhoca stated she lost the card and was sorry.
