Levittown Man Accused of Trying to Run Over a Cop

Police in Toms River, N.J. are looking for a Levittown man who they say was involved in a hit-and-run after he tried to run down a police officer.

Police in Toms River, N.J. are looking for Joseph A. Lynch, of Levittown, who, they say, tried to hit a police officer with his car, according to The Asbury Park Press.

The report states that Lynch, 55, was involved in an altercation at the Pier One Motel in Toms River. When police arrived, Lynch allegedly got in his Pontiac Grand AM and “tried to hit the officer and his patrol car.”

After Lynch fled, police say, he hit another car, driven by a 73-year-old. Police are now looking for Lynch who has been charged with aggravated assault and eluding police.
