Man Reports Home Invasion in Colbolt Ridge

Neighbors in the Colbolt Ridge section of the township did not hear anything at the time the crime was alleged to have happened.


Middletown police continue to investigate a reported home invasion that happened in the 50 block of Crestwood Road in Colbolt Ridge section of the community at around 11 a.m. on Thursday.

About 10 police cars responded to reports from an elderly man who claimed two individuals with masks attacked him and stole an large sum of money, according to neighbors and police communications.

Neighbors, who did not wish to be named, said an ambulance took the elderly man away. One emergency official told a Crestwood Road resident the man claimed he was tasered.

Residents who live across from the alleged site of the incident told Patch they did not hear or see anything out of the ordinary and were only alerted when police arrived.

One resident said the elderly man, who shares the house with family, has a history of odd behavior.

An hour after the incident was reported, Middletown police had left the scene and a small group of media remained. No evidence of a crime scene was visible from the street.

Calls for more information to Middletown police have not yet been returned.
