Official: Lightning Strike Cause Of Boat Fire In Tullytown

The 21-foot Galaxy boat at the D & S Boat Sales & Marina in Tullytown caught fire at about 6:30 a.m. Friday.

A lightning strike was the cause of boat fire in Tullytown, according to an official.

The 21-foot Galaxy boat at the D & S Boat Sales & Marina caught fire at about 6:30 a.m. Friday.

Marina owner Steve Baum said that he could see the boat struck by lightning on the marina's video cameras, but the boat didn't fully catch fire until at about 7 a.m.

Baum said Tullytown and Levittown fire companies responded in about three minutes and the fire was out within six minutes.

The heavily damaged boat, named the Makin' It Happen, was being stored at the marina.
