The elderly man struck and killed by a Toyota Corolla on Penn Valley Road in the area of New Falls Road over the weekend was identified by police Tuesday evening.
Levittown resident Duk Ki Lee, 71, was struck by the car Sunday just before 7:30 p.m. He was pronounced dead at St. Mary Medical Center in Middletown a short time later, police Lt. Hank Ward said.
Identifying Lee took so long due to the fact that he was not carrying identification at the time of the strike. Also, he is not known to have any relatives in the United State, Ward told Patch.
The 71-year-old was walking in the roadway at the time he was struck, Ward said. Around the same time, rain storms were moving through the Levittown area.
Police confirm that the accident investigation continues.
As of Tuesday evening, no charges have been filed against the driver of the Corolla. Ward suggested the incident appears to be just an accident.
