Police Officer Killed by Alleged Drunk Driver From Levittown

A Levittown driver, allegedly drunk and driving the wrong way on I-95, struck and killed a highway patrol officer Sunday morning, according to reports.

 A CBS Philly news report indicates that a 23-year veteran of the Highway Patrol was killed this morning when a driver from Levittown, driving the wrong way on I-95, struck the officers motorcycle.

According to the report, Police Officer Brian Lorenzo was on his way home at 3:15 a.m., when a 48-year-old driver from Levittown – allegedly driving under the influence – hit Lorenzo at high speed near the Cottman Avenue exit.

Lorenzo was pronounced dead at the scene.
