Police: Virgin Mary Statue Stolen From Croydon Cemetery

Bristol Township police reported several thefts and acts of vandalism the area.

A cement statue of the Virgin Mary was taken from a grave at the St. Mark’s Cemetery at Bristol Pike in Croydon sometime between 5:30 p.m. July 27 and 12:45 p.m. Sunday, police reported. The approximate value is $240.

Two ground bus bars of copper, worth $5,000, were stolen from Zimmerman Lane in Bristol at 3:28 p.m. Friday, police said.

Police said someone took a $250 bicycle from the rear yard of home on Washington Avenue in Croydon at 5:30 p.m. Friday.

A handgun, GPS system, laptop and case and a wallet were stolen after someone broke the passenger’s side window on a 1998 Dodge at Bristol Oxford Valley Road in Levittown, police report. It happened sometime overnight Saturday, police said.

Sometime between 7 p.m. Saturday and 3 a.m. Sunday someone broke into a home on Schumacher Drive in Bristol and stole a jug of coins, police reported.

Copper ground bard and nickel-plated copper wire were taken from a cellular phone tower at Veterans Highway in Bristol at 12:04 p.m. Friday, police reported.

Police said sometime overnight Saturday someone bent the passenger door outward on a Acura, parked on Bristol Pike in Levittown, and took amplifiers, iPod, soldering iron and speakers, valued at $770.

The baseboard heating from all the rooms of a home on Farmbrook Drive in Levittown were removed, it was reported to police on Sunday.

Sometime overnight on July 29 someone broke the windshield on a 2009 Chevrolet, parked at Excelsior Avenue in Croydon, causing $500 in damage, police reported.

The driver’s side door on a 1996 BMW, parked at Newport Road in Croydon, was scratched and dented, police report. It happened sometime between 11 p.m. on July 28 and 7 a.m. July 29.

Police said sometime at about 1:30 a.m. Saturday a victim heard three load bangs outside a home on New York Avenue in Croydon. Upon further inspection three holes were found in the siding causing about $500 in damage, police reported.
