Bristol Residents Robbed After Checking Mailboxes

Both incidents happened on Ford Road in Bristol.

Police said two similar-type robberies were reported in Bristol. 

Two armed robbers took a cell phone and $25 in cash from a 58-year-old Bristol man, according to police.

Police said the victim went to the mailbox area of his apartment complex at Ford Road in Bristol at 5:03 p.m. on Nov. 12 when he was approached by two men.

The robbers pointed a handgun at the victim's chest and told him not to move while they searched through his pockets and stole the items before fleeing in a an unidentified vehicle, according to police. 

Police said the victim could only describe one of the robbers as a black man, approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall with a medium build, medium skin tone and a young-looking face. He was wearing a black-hooded sweatshirt with black pants and gloves.

In a separate incident, police also reported a similar-type robbery near the same location. 

A 48-year-old woman was returning to her apartment after checking her mailbox at Ford Road in Bristol at 5:40 p.m. on Nov. 13 when police said she was approached by a man who asked her money.  

She stated she didn’t have any money and walked back to her apartment when the robber forced her into the apartment, brandished a handgun, took an unknown amount of cash and fled on foot, according to police.

The robber was described as a black man, about 20 years old, dark complexion approximately 6 feet tall. He was wearing a black-hooded sweatshirt, black jeans, black bandana, brown boots and black leather gloves.
