State Police: Driver Suspected of DUI Caught After High-Speed Chase

A routine traffic stop by state police turned into a high-speed chase on I-95 on New Year's Day.

A Trenton man faces charges of fleeing a police officer after Pennsylvania State Police say he led troopers on a high-speed chase that allegedly reached as high as 120 mph on I-95 in Bucks County on New Year's Day, according to the Bucks County Courier Times.

Court documents say that, Bruce Clark, 19, has also been charged with misdemeanor counts of driving under the influence, possessing marijuana and reckless endangerment, plus summary offenses for reckless and careless driving and excessive speeding.

According to the Courier Times, Clark was pulled over for speeding on I-95 by a state trooper Wednesday. When the officer approached the vehicle, Clark allegedly sped off, weaving through traffic. He was eventually pulled over again and taken into custody, according to the report.

Clark has been confined to Bucks County prison in lieu of 10 percent payment of $20,000 bail. His preliminary hearing is tentatively scheduled for Jan. 15 at 2 p.m. before District Judge Daniel Baranoski.
