String Of Thefts Reported In Bristol, Police Say

Wave Of Thefts Hit Township In Addition To Other Crimes

Bristol Township police said a series of thefts occurred last Tuesday. The wave left several cars parked on River Road in Croydon with damages and missing goods.

A 1993 Ford truck was stolen outside of a property on River Road in Croydon, police said. The incident was believed to have occurred sometime between the hours of 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m.

Another incident on River Road was reported slightly later. A 2004 Jeep's window was ripped open on the soft top of the Jeep. The thief removed a checkbook from the vehicle, according to police.

Police said roughly around the same time, thieves gained entry into an unlocked 1996 Chevrolet on River Road and stole a snap-on screwdriver. Its value was only estimated at about $25.

Another Ford vehicle, a 1998 pickup truck, was vandalized sometime overnight Tuesday. Police said the culprits broke the truck's passenger side window and proceeded to loot the GPS system and a portable DVD player. The vehicle was parked off Main Avenue. The theft and damages were valued at about $2,000.

On Gun Road in Levittown, police said a theft of a vehicle registration tag off of a car was reported.

Police said sometime Tuesday afternoon a 2000 Volkswagen, parked off Otter Street in Bristol, was broken into. The thief stole a collection of CDs as well as loose cash from the vehicle. The combined items were valued at $880.

A locker at Harry S. Truman High School was broken into Tuesday during class time. Police said a student cut the combination lock off of the locker and removed a student's wallet.

Police said sometime Tuesday a solar garden light was removed from a property on Spencer Drive in Croydon. It was valued at $20.

Someone gained entry to a residence on State Road and stole an undetermined amount of money from the safe inside the home, according to police.

Police said on Wednesday the thefts continued.

Police said sometime in the early morning a cell phone was stolen out of an open locker at a location on Green Lane in Levittown. The phone was reportedly valued at approximately $200.

Unsecured carpentry tools were removed from a location off of Haines Road in Levittown sometime overnight Wednesday, according to police. The equipment was worth approximately $500.

In addition to the string of thefts seen early this week, several instances of vandalism were also reported.

Fitch Elementary School was tagged with graffiti, according to police. The south wall of the Levittown school was the only place sprayed on. The damage is valued at around $100.

On River Road, during the same period of the aforementioned break-ins, a 2008 GMC car's passenger side window was broken, police said. The inside steering column and ignition was damaged, presumably a failed hot-wiring, police said. The cost of the damage was not immediately known.

Several more vandalisms were reported Wednesday, according to police.

Police said a Kia parked on Junewood Drive in Levittown was part of an apparent hit-and-run. The Kia's windshield and hood were damaged. The other vehicle left black transfer marks on the passenger side. The approximate damage is $500.

Vandals smashed the front passenger side window of a 1995 Ford that was parked off of Bloomsdale Road in Levittown, police said. Nothing was taken from inside the vehicle.

According to police, the front windshield of a Chevrolet on Jolly Lane in Levittown was left completely shattered overnight Wednesday. The damages are estimated just over $500.
