Police: Thief Strips Pharmacy's Air Conditioner For Parts

The Rite Aid on New Falls Road in Levittown was hit twice in two weeks for theft and vandalism, Bristol Township Police report. Sometime overnight on March 24, police report that an unidentified subject cut the lines to the Rite Aid's external air conditioning unit and stripped it of its metal parts.

The same Rite Aid's air conditioning unit was on March 19 when someone ripped off the top of the unit and damaged its internal components. The previous act of vandalism caused upwards of $2600 worth of damages.

The pharmacy wasn't the only air conditioner theft in the area. Police report that overnight on March 24, someone also stole a 200 lb A/C unit from a residence on Elm Avenue in Croydon. Also taken were a roll of green vinyl fence slats and three heavy-duty batteries. The total approximate value is more than $300.

In addition to these two related A/C unit thefts, Bristol police reported several other thefts between March 23 and 24:

A GPS system was removed from a parked 2006 Ford on Hayes Boulevard in Bristol. Police say the incident occurred sometime overnight on March 23.

An individual attempted to break into the T-Mobile store on Durham Road in Bristol after hours on March 24. The individual gained entry to the building by prying open the read fire-exit. The culprit was unable to gain full access into the building due to a metal rolling security gate.

In addition, Bristol Township Police reported one arrest:

Amanda Schweigart, 19 of Levittown, was arrested and charged with simple assault on March 23. Schweigart's bail was to $2,500.
