Two-Alarm Fire Strikes Pond Street Homes

A large fire hit Bristol Borough early Thursday morning and left one person injured.

A large fire tore through two homes in the 600 block of Pond Street in Bristol Borough just after 2 a.m. Thursday.

The two-alarm fire left one man with injuries, an official said. 6abc reported the man was elderly and being treated for smoke inhalation at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia.

The county fire marshal and borough firefighters remained at the scene just after sunrise and were seen combing through the debris.

The fire is suspected of originating in the basement of the home at the corner of Pond Street and Eagle Lane before spreading to the connected house, fire officials told 6abc.

A cell phone photograph taken by early Tuesday morning showed heavy fire and smoke coming from the house where the fire appeared to have began.

Several area fire companies responded to the call.

Just hours later, local fire companies responded to an auto accident with entrapment at Newportville Road and the Glen Hollow Apartments in the Croydon section of Bristol Township. No further details on the crash were available.

I would like to say it was amazing watching these future Hall of Famers at 8 years old fightingRead More through the weather and playing the 5 games in 2 days. They were tougher than many of the adults! I remember my days with Levittown American Little League playing in the 8-9 year old division and these boys would have taken us out! It would not have been close. Great Job to all and Congrats to Team Neshaminy...do you know how hard it is to say that as a Pennsbury Grad? I look forward to the next tournament!
