Generators, Fuel Stolen by Thieves During Outage

Two units were stolen and fuel from another was taken.

Bristol Township police are investigating three thefts involving generators that have occurred in the community since the storm.

All three incidents are believed to have happened around Halloween during the height of the massive power outage, police said. The township has been in a State of Emergency since early in the week.

At 12:54 a.m. on Halloween, police responded to reports of a stolen generator at the corner of Green Lane and Route 13. The township-owned generator was taken by thieves, PhillyBurbs.com reported.

Shortly after the early morning theft, a vehicle crash occurred at the signal-less intersection.

The fuel-powered system was padlocked to the traffic signal, the website reported.

A generator belonging to Verizon was taken from the intersection of Mill Creek Road and Edgely Road, police said.

The unit was a Honda EB1000 that was red and black in color. A large Verizon tag was posted on the frame, according to a police blotter.

Officers also handled a report that $30 worth of fuel was stolen from a generating unit in the 800 block of Winder Drive sometime overnight.

Lt. Terry Hughes told Phillburbs that the incidents put residents' lives and risk, and those found guilty will be punished to the fullest extent of the law.

The incident happened as Levittown is dealing with one of the worst power outages in recent memory.

just wondering, if the thief stole a generator from a traffic light resulting in an accident is that thief responsible for the accident? I would hope so!

I would like to say it was amazing watching these future Hall of Famers at 8 years old fightingRead More through the weather and playing the 5 games in 2 days. They were tougher than many of the adults! I remember my days with Levittown American Little League playing in the 8-9 year old division and these boys would have taken us out! It would not have been close. Great Job to all and Congrats to Team Neshaminy...do you know how hard it is to say that as a Pennsbury Grad? I look forward to the next tournament!
