Jill Biden to Campaign in Pennsylvania Today

Jill Biden, from Montgomery County, will stop at the Pennsylvania Education Association in Lehigh County Oct. 8, as part of a two-day, seven-city tour for the Obama campaign.

Jill Biden, wife of Vice President Joe Biden, is coming Oct. 8, to Wescosville, in Lehigh County as part of a two-day, seven-city canvass kickoff for the Obama-Biden campaign.

Jill Biden will arrive at 5:15 p.m. at the Pennsylvania State Education Association, 4950 Medical Center Circle, Wescosville, for what is being called a Voter Registration and Canvass Thank You Event.

According to the Obama campaign, Jill Biden will encourage supporters and volunteers to remind Pennsylvanians to register to vote before the Oct. 9 deadline. She also will encourage volunteers to help organize their communities between now and Election Day and to thank them for canvassing.

Biden's visit to Wescosville will be the last of four stops on Monday, following appearances earlier in the day in Harrisburg, Scranton and Hazleton. On Tuesday, she will travel to Reading, Lancaster and Philadelphia.

Jill Biden grew up in Willow Grove. Her husband was born in Scranton.

  • 1:15 p.m., Obama for America-Pennsylvania field office, Scranton

  • 5:15 p.m., Pennsylvania State Education Association, 4950 Medical Center Circle, Wescosville

Here is her schedule for Oct. 9:

  • 12:15 p.m., Obama for America-Pennsylvania field office, Reading
  • 2 p.m., Obama for America-Pennsylvania field office, Lancaster
  • 5 p.m. Obama for America-Pennsylvania field office, Philadelphia

The Obama campaign said the Wescosville event is open to Obama volunteers and supporters.
