Where Is Mosquito Spraying Wednesday?

Levittown's third mosquito-spraying operation to reduce the threat of West Nile Virus is scheduled for Wednesday evening.

The threat of West Nile Virus continues in Levittown and crews will spray pesticide to knock down the mosquito population Wednesday evening in Falls Township.

Crews with truck-mounted sprayers will be out between 7:45 and 9:30 p.m. (weather permitting) for the following streets in Fairless Hills: Auburn, Beaumont, Chatham, Dunbury, Eldridge, Fairfield, Glenmar, Hanford, Stanwood, Brentwood and Dunedin Roads, and Lebbie Lane.

The trucks to be deployed for the spray will be a green Chevrolet truck with the County of Bucks seal on the side as well as a blue Ford Ranger pickup truck, also bearing the county seal.

Crews sprayed mosquitoes twice so far — in Falls and Bristol Townships last week. Seven mosquito samples from Levittown have tested positive for West Nile under the state's surveillance program.

West Nile also showed up in mosquitoes in Buckingham Township this week.

Bucks County is listed as a hot zone for West Nile by the state Department of Environmental Protection. 

Two people in Bucks were sickened by West Nile last year.
