New Director of Facilities for Pennsbury Named

The district is expected to name Scott Millward the new facilities director for the district.

Scott Millward was selected to be the School District’s new Director of Facilities, effective October 25, 2012. The Board of School Directors will formally appoint Mr. Millward to this position during the public School Board meeting scheduled for November 8, 2012. Mr. Millward replaces Thomas Gillette, who recently retired from Pennsbury.

Mr. Millward comes to Pennsbury from the Downingtown Area School District, where he most recently served as Assistant Director of Facilities and Operations since 2008. Prior to that position, Mr. Millward was Supervisor of Maintenance and Custodial Services for the Phoenixville Area School District for five years, and also served in previous positions involving facility start-ups and operations.

As the Director of Facilities in Pennsbury, Mr. Millward will report to Business Administrator, Daniel Rodgers. He will be responsible for supervising a staff of nearly 200 employees in maintaining over two million square feet of building space. Mr. Millward will also be responsible for long-range facilities planning, including capital investment, design, bidding, and construction. The Director of Facilities oversees all aspects of environmental safety in Pennsbury, plus mail operations, field and facility usage, and professional service and maintenance contracts.

Mr. Millward graduated from the Lincoln Technical Institute in Pennsauken, New Jersey. Prior to that, he served in the U.S. Navy, where he worked in electronics and missile defense.
