NWS Issues Excessive Heat Warning For Wednesday, Thursday

Heat index values expected to be near 100 degrees on Wednesday.

The National Weather Service issued an excessive heat warning that goes into effect at 12 p.m. Wednesday and remain in effect until Thursday at 8 p.m. -- this in addition to Tuesday's heat advisory.

The heat index values will be near 100 degrees on Wednesday afternoon and 101 to 105 degrees on Thursday afternoon.

The heat and humidity are expected to continue through at least Friday. According to the NWS, the excessive heat warning will likely extend through at least Friday when heat index values reach between 106 to 110 degrees in the afternoon.

An excessive heat warning indicated that a period of hot temperatures and high humidity levels is expected. The combined heat and humidity will create a hazard for those who are exposed to it for more than a short period of time.
