Section of South Olds Boulevard Closed Until May

South Olds Boulevard is closed between Parkway and Southway drives.

The plan to replace the culvert and bridge on South Old Boulevard in Falls Township looks like it is going to take longer than originally expected.

At a November Board of Supervisors meeting, township engineer James Sullivan said the replacement and repair project should take about a week.

According to a message posted recently on the township website, the road will be closed between Parkway and Southway drives starting Wednesday and opening again by May 1.

The culvert and bridge have been crumbling for the past few months and crews placed barricades to stop traffic from driving over the most damaged portions.

The board approved to hire Bensalem's BrightLine Construction at $336,173 to fix the roadway and culvert that runs below in November. The township already owns the culvert that is expected to be replaced.

The bridge runs over the Queen Anne Creek.

Going to take longer then originally expected why did it take over a year to deside that $336.173is the cost its not a span over a big flowing river a huge wast of money just like the bridge on otter street in bristol that took over a year to bild a big wast of tax payers money i say that bridge can be replaced in a week the most.

I reside in the apartments next to this bridge. Ive lived here going on 5 years and that bridge has been slowly falling apart. You know its bad when you can walk on the sidewalk and view the creek from the holes in the road! Glad they are getting around to fixing it but I agree with xbmike why does it take 2 months to fix it?

Because they are going to let the concrete set till it gets really hard!!!!! Because it drags out the time they can pay their employees to do something.

Its still winter and theres gonna be al ot of rain and bad weather. Where do you expect the water to go when they need to rebuild the bridge?? This creek is from that lake so it must flow pretty good when it rains and snows. And 3 months isnt long just remember the bristol oxford valley rd bridge over turnpike now that was a nitemare.
