Teens Seriously Hurt When Tree Falls During Storm

Two brothers were seriously hurt when a tree hit them during Hurricane Sandy.

Two teenage boys were critically hurt when strong winds knocked a tree onto them outside a house on Blue Ridge Drive in Bristol Township Monday evening, Levittown-Fairless Hills Rescue Squad Chief Christopher Reif said.

Fire crews and EMS units arrived at around 7:30 p.m. to find a 15-year-old boy walking with injuries at the scene. His 19-year-old brother was trapped under the tree, Reif said.

As first responders worked to free the 19-year-old, a nearby tree fell and almost crushed them, the chief told Patch.

Reif said the squad transported the duo to nearby Aria Health's Bucks County Campus in Falls Township due to the treacherous road conditions.

The boys’ latest condition was not available as of press time.
