Woodbourne Road Part Of $8.8M PennDOT Repair Project

Woodbourne Road Being Milled, Repaved

Woodbourne Road is currently getting a facelift due to a $8.8 million statewide Pennsylvana Department of Transportation repair project.

The milling, which started July 18, has been all but completed. Currently, PennDOT crews are scheduled to work on repaving the road from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. during the week. PennDOT estimates that construction on the 3.1-mile road will be finished by Aug. 18.

"The neighbors will have to deal with a little noise, but the impact on traffic will be minimal," PennDOT Spokesperson Charlie Metzger said in an interview with Patch.

However, PennDOT, in a news release to Middletown Township, recommended motorists allow for extra travel time during the project.

Woodbourne Road is just one of many local roadways in PennDOT's project that are to be milled and paved; Green Lane, New Falls Road and Oxford Valley Road in Bristol Township are all slated to be reworked.

Over the last year and a half, many other local road projects also took place. In October, Trenton Road in Levittown and the Bristol Oxford Valley Road Bridge in Bristol were closed due to repair and construction. The later remains closed, and is not due to open until September of this year.

In May, a major construction project began on Route 413, which shut down northbound traffic past New Falls Road in Levittown.
