BTSD Extends Tax Fee Deadline

The Bristol Township district is delaying tax payments until Dec. 1. The action was taken in light of Hurricane Sandy.

Due to the inconveniences caused by Hurricane Sandy, the Bristol Township School Board at Monday's meeting approved a motion that extends the tax fee deadline.

The motion extends the tax deadline until Dec. 1, according to Bristol Township School District spokeswoman Eileen Kelliher.

The extension was designed to provide residents “some relief from the delays and inconveniences of Hurricane Sandy,” a district statement said.

Penalties on late payments will not start until after the first of the month.

Following the storm’s arrival, close to 90 percent of the district was left without working power, officials said. The schools and district offices were closed for 5 days.
