Friday Night Lights Recap - Week 1

Last Friday, Bristol fell to Communications Tech; Truman defeated Lincoln; and Easton took down Pennsbury.

It’s official.

With this past Friday, high school football has kicked off, and only time will tell which teams are left standing in the upcoming months that will magically make that trip to Hershey, Pa.

For local fans, it was a mixed up bag of emotions as Pennsbury fell to Easton 32-14; Bristol came up short 38-20 to Communications Tech; and Truman came away with a 13-7 victory over Lincoln.

Truman v Lincoln

Manny Fisher paced the Tiger offense, racking up 129 yards and crossing the goal line twice in the 13-7 win.

After Lincoln struck first on a pick six to move the scoreboard first in the opening stanza, the Tigers allowed just three first downs on defense throughout 48 minutes, while moving the chains 18 times on their own.

Bristol v Communications Tech

Scoring 20 points in the second quarter, Tech rolled to a 38-20 victory over Bristol.

Bristol quarterback, Trevor Leone, connected with Kyle Slivka-Fralin and Tyler Kelly for scoring strikes through the air late in the game; while Donte Simmons scampered in from six yard out in the first quarter.
