Letter to the Editor: School District Thanks Bristol Township Council

The Bristol Township Council voted to approve the final land use proposal at the Buchanan Elementary School site on Jan. 16.

Congratulations to the members of Bristol Township Council for making the students and staff of Bristol Township School District a priority on its Thursday, January 16 agenda!  By voting in support of final land use at the Buchanan Elementary School site, you have voted in support of the education of Bristol Township’s students now and in future generations.

And for this, our District is most grateful.

It is no surprise to those who have been in our buildings that Bristol Township desperately needs new elementary schools. All were built between 1929 and 1958. These buildings have been plagued with constant repairs and overcrowding.  The learning environment has been less than ideal for our students – at a point in their lives when early educational development is critical to future success.
