Mansfield University Orchestra Presents Free Concert at Tennent

The college's wind ensemble will perform tonight at the high school auditorium.

Music lovers in the area have been invited to a free concert staged by the Mansfield University Concert Wind Ensemble and the Mansfield University Symphony Orchestra at William Tennent High School tonight at 7 p.m.

The show is part of the orchestra's three-day concert tour through central and eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey running through Nov. 16.

Mansfield University’s music department is recognized as one of the finest music schools in the eastern United States. The Concert Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Dr. Adam F. Brennan, and the Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Dr. Jeff Jacobsen, have been hailed as incredibly sensitive, musically compelling, and masterful in their interpretation of the finest music available to the wind-band and orchestral mediums.

The concert tour will take the groups to Hughesville, Hazelton, William Tennent, Tamaqua, Bethlehem, Bensalem, and Oley Valley.  The Concert Wind Ensemble will conclude their tour with a full day recording session on November 17 followed by a campus concert on November 18 at 2:30 pm in Steadman Theatre on the campus of Mansfield University.

Why do you post a picture showing December 17th when the concert is tonight? Rather confusing.

Sorry, it's just a file photo.

As a past member of both the Mansfield Wind Ensemble and Orchestra I hope that everyone who attended enjoyed the concerts. Upper level musicians work hard at their instrument and often have more training and schooling than do doctors and lawyers.
