Neshaminy Teacher Recognized

Kelly Macauley started a program that helps her students and some people with special needs.

Neshaminy High School and teacher Kelly Macauley were recognized recetly for Macualey's efforts to socialize her students and special needs residents at Woods Services in Langhorne.

Woods Services honored Macauley at its annual “Honoring Exceptional Volunteers” reception.

Macauley teaches a service-learning course called the Family and Consumer Science Major and wanted her students to have another experience giving to others.

Throughout the school year, approximately ten clients from Woods Services visited the F.C.S. Major classes once a month. F.C.S. Major students reciprocated and traveled to Woods Services once a month to work with the teaching staff and students at the Gardner Education Center.

Woods Services and the school are making plans to continue the program.
