Pennsbury Cheer Squads 'Reach The Beach' With Top Honors

Four teams with the Pennsbury Falcons Cheerleading Association participated in and earned top honors in a national competition.

 

Four teams with the Pennsbury Falcons Cheerleading Association participated in and earned top honors in a national competition. 

The two-day "Reach the Beach" competition was held in Ocean City, Maryland on Feb. 25. According to their website, the competition "is the country’s original beach cheerleading competition" for school and rec teams across the nation.

Three of four PFCA teams won first place for their division, and a fourth team won an honorable mention.

Three groups were awarded National Champions: Pee Wee (ages 10 and under), Youth (ages 12 and under), Juniors (ages 14 and under). The Juniors were also awarded Grand Champions and Judge's Choice Award. 

"In addition to our national titles, our Mini squad (ages 8 and under with a minimum age requirement of kindergarten enrollment) won an honorable mention," PFCA Public Relations Representative Suzi Sabo said. "This mini-team is a newly created squad and delivered an amazing performance at their first national competition!"

Sabo said PFCA's Cheer Dads competed in the parent squad category and also won first place.
