Pennsbury Education Foundation Announces Grant Awards

The non-profit organization awarded a total of 12 grants to nine schools in Pennsbury School District.

 

Nine schools in Pennsbury School District were recently awarded grants, by the Pennsbury Education Foundation.

The non-profit organization awarded a total of 12 grants, according to a news release. PEF relies on donations and supports the purpose of improving teaching and learning in Pennsbury through innovative educational initiatives.

Grants were awarded through an application process that occurs twice each year.

"The PEF Board is pleased to be able to support the valuable work that teachers do in the classroom, and we look for effective ways that we can distribute funding to benefit students," PEF President Liz Siporin said.

Pennwood Middle School was awarded $1,500 and Charles Boehm Middle School was awarded $1,000 -- both for Challenge Day. For a complete list of applicants and their respective awards check the PDF to the right. 

The next application deadline for PEF grant funding is April 10, 2012.

In addition to gathering generous donations from local funding sources and individual donors, the PEF also participates in the Department of Community and Economic Development’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program, which awards tax credits to businesses making contributions to the PEF.
