Whiz Kid: Meet Courtney Kalinowski
Pennsbury High School Senior, Artist Is This Week's Whiz Kid
Courtney Kalinowski is a talented artist that recently won first place Best of Show at the 24th Annual Touch the Future Art Exhibit.
"My piece is made mainly out of recycled found objects including foam board, plexiglass and cardboard," Courtney said. "The piece itself was an assignment I was given in my art major called 2D to 3D, meaning that students had to take a famous two-dimensional work of art and turn it into a three dimensional work of art. The original painting my piece is based off is called Window of Inspiration by David Garibaldi."
Courtney said it took her about two and one half months working about three hours a day, in and outside of school to complete the project. She said that she never expected to win first place and that it was definitely unexpected.

"My plan after high school is to attend Tyler School of Art where I will major in either glass or graphic design and I eventually hope to earn my master's degree in set design at NYU," Courtney said.
Courtney is also the captain of Pennsbury’s girl’s Ultimate Frisbee team and also plays for a league in New Jersey called the Mercer County Ultimate Disc League.
