MLB Pitch Hit & Run Competition Held at Middletown Community Park
The weather may have been chilly but the competition was hot.
The MLB Pitch, Hit and Run competition held at Middletown's community park provides athletes ages 7 to 14 across the country an opportunity to showcase their pitching, hitting and running abilities.
The pitching competition was a challenge to hit the strike zone with a total of six throws. Hitting was off of a stationary tee and was measured for distance and accuracy while the running challenge was for pure speed.
Each of the four age division winners, 7/8, 9/10, 11/12, and 13/14 with boys and girls will move on to the Sectional competition held in a few months. The winners of Sectional will advance to the Team Championship and a chance to advance to National Finals during the MLB All-Star Game.
