Schafer talked about getting the start.
"It meant a lot," Schafer said. "It was really special. This was my first year ever playing basketball. I made a lot of good friends and I won't regret doing this. It was really great."
"Ally, for her first year on the team as a senior, brought some energy. She had a positive attitude, hard work ethic," head coach Donna Nicholson said.
Nicholson had some kind things to say about her three seniors.
"They're very special kids," Nicholson said. "Being part of a team, you make friends for life. It just carries with you when you grow and develop. There's more to the sport than playing the game; it's the life lessons. It's lessons that help make you the person that you are. All three of them at their young are already off to a good start.”
All in all, Pennsbury lost 56-41 to William Tennent Friday night.
The Lady Falcons got down in a 10-0 hole to start the game. Pennsbury cut the lead to 18-17 at the six-minute mark in the second quarter.
William Tennent turned on the jets and regained control from there. They outscored Pennsbury 31-16 in the second half.
"After the initial excitement, we got our heads into the game. We had ourselves under control and ready to go. In the second half, we just lost it a little bit," senior Stephanie Gray said.
Nicholson had this to say about the season.
"It's been a really good year," Nicholson said. "Molly and Stephanie as captains were leaders, on and off the court. We had nine new players and they're young. Molly and Stephanie made us a family. They're going to be hard to replace.
