Lady Tigers Fall To Bensalem 60-31, Remain Winless
After a slow first period, the Tigers found themselves in a hole they simply could not climb out of.
The 0-2 Bensalem Lady Owls came out strong and got off to a big lead early. But in the end, it was a hole simply too big for the Tigers to climb out of as they lost at home Tuesday night 60-31.
It was one mistake after another for the Tigers and before they knew it they were trailing by 10 points minutes into the contest. By halftime, the girls were trailing by 16 and needed to find a spark to get them going.
"[Tigers] came out lacking confidence, which means I need to change my game plan again," Tigers coach L. Collette Munford said. "I have a lot of young girls. They got a chance to play and did well. They had plenty of playing time and they didn't give up."

For the Tigers, the second half had much of the same woes, however, they did manage to go on a 9-0 run at the start of the fourth quarter. The run was led by Shannon McDuffie, who drained three shots in a row. McDuffie, who is the Tigers leading scorer this season, kept up her strong play finishing with 16 points and a couple of rebounds. She was one of the few bright spots for the Tigers, who had problems not only with turnovers but also with foul shooting, finishing the night 10 for 20 from the foul line.
"Our turnovers are horrible. It is something we need to work on," Munford added.

It was the same story for the Owls, at least in the turnover department. They turned the ball over 16 times -- something that cannot be overlooked -- despite the strong finish in which they outscored the Tigers 32-19 in the second half. The Tigers just could not find an answer for Owls forward Ashleigh Spence, who finished the evening with 21 points, 11 of which came in the second half.
They were also out rebounded by the Owls the entire night and at times, the frustration showed even though one of the team's key rebounders, Khristafan Jackson, came down with eight boards.
Now the Tigers, who are still winless at 0-3, look to regroup as they are off the next few days before they head to the Lower Moreland Holiday Tournament on Dec. 26.
