Real Estate Agents Band Together To Support Troops

Items will go to homeless veterans as the nation remembers 9/11.

An on event on Sept. 11 is when Bucks County real estate agencies, who collected items for veterans in need, will give back to homeless vets. The donated items were collected in August also known as Items to Support Our Troops month.

Myra J. Savich is chairperson of the Reach Out Committee with the Bucks County Association of Realtors, Inc.

"Veterans have giving for us. Now, it’s time we give back to them. That's why were involved in this effort," Savich said.

This is BCAR's first year involved in the collection, according to Savich. She said BCAR President Dennis Lawerence wanted them to get more involved with supporting community events.

"This is one we felt strongly about," Savich said.

The most commonly needed items include shampoo, soap, deodorant, disposable razors, socks, men’s and women’s underwear (sizes 6,8,10), blankets, baseball caps, pens, notepads, clipboards, backpacks and individual snack bars and juice boxes. Donations are still being accepted.

"Believe me. My Kia hold’s plenty of stuff and when it
comes to veterans needing support were there," Savich said.  

Savich said real estate agents are very generous people and this was one way they wee contributing back to those who serve our country.

The donated items will go to support homeless veterans as part of the Stand Down event. The event takes place Sept. 11 at the Government Services Building at 7321 New Falls Road in Levittown.
