Ring in the New Year, Christmas Tree Pickup Schedule

Check out what's happening this week in Levittown.

Happy New Year this week! Welcome to 2014. All banks, schools and post offices are closed in observance of the holiday.

Christmas trees in Falls Township will be collected for composting on Jan. 4 and Jan. 11. Residents are asked not to leave the trees out for pickup prior to those dates. After Jan. 11, trees can be put out with the regular trash. Trees over 6-feet tall must be cut in half. Bristol Township trees will be picked up on Jan. 8 and Jan. 22.

All Levittown public and parochial schools remain closed for winter break. Classes resume Jan. 2.

Sunday's rain storm clears up with partly sunny skies and cold temperatures in the mid-30s going down to the 20s this week, with possible snow on Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.
