Utility Pole Snapped After Crash in Falls

A minor accident wrecked a utility pole on Old Lincoln Highway.

Utility workers installed a new pole along eastbound Old Lincoln Highway in Falls Township Monday night. The original pole was snapped after a vehicle struck it, Lt. Hank Ward said. No injuries were reported in the accident. Crews from PECO and Verizon were on the scene, just past the municipal complex, at 8 p.m. working to install a new pole. One eastbound lane of the the roadway was closed for a period of the evening as the pole was replaced.

Troopers Respond to Crash on Pine Street in Langhorne

Three people were hurt and taken by ambulance.

Three victims were taken to St. Mary Medical Center after a three-vehicle crash in Langhorne Borough. According to state police, the accident happened Wednesday at 4:11 p.m. on Pine Street near Summit Avenue. Police said traffic was stopped when a three-vehicle chain reaction accident occurred. The three victims were tranported to the Middletown hospital by EMS units from Penndel, troopers said.

Woman Struck, Killed Along Route 13

A Bristol Township resident died from injuries sustained when she was hit by a car. Bristol Borough police are investigating the accident.

A Bristol Township woman has passed away from injuries sustained when she was struck by a car in Bristol Borough. Christina “Tina” Szymanek, 60, of Bath Road, was walking along the southbound shoulder of Route 13 when she was struck by a car driven by a Croydon resident at 5:28 p.m. on Friday, according to borough police. The victim was taken by ambulance to Aria Health's Torresdale hospital. She died several hours later, police reported on Tuesday. The driver is cooperating with the ongoing police investigation and the District Attorney’s Office is reviewing the incident. Authorities have not released further details on the crash. Reports: Fire in Bristol & Accident in Falls

Local emergency responders were busy Sunday night.

Monday, 7:43 a.m.: According to a post on our Facebook page, a man was killed in the accident in Falls last night. We are working to gather more informaton. Monday, 5:45 a.m.: Police, fire and EMS units were busy in Levittown Sunday evening. Shortly before 7 p.m., fire crews responded to the Marion Village Apartments on Marion Avenue in the Edgley section of Bristol Township for a fire. According to emergency reports, the fire was reported to be on the lower level of the 3-story apartment building. Details on the fire were scarce, but the fire marshal and police remained at the scene at about 8 p.m. Sunday. Carjacking & Man Hits School Bus in Bristol Township

Police responded a carjacking in Croydon and a strange accident involving a school bus.

Bristol Township police have handled a carjacking and hit-and-run crash involving a school bus over the past few days. Just after midnight on Wednesday, a man was approached by three black males and carjacked in the 1700 block of Newport Road in Croydon, police reported. One of the suspects displayed a handgun. The trio demanded the victim's car and wallets during the incident, police said. The victim was able to get free from the area and get help, but his car and wallet were taken. According to township police, the vehicle is a gray 2008 Chevrolet Impala. DDB2500 is the vehicle's registration. NB Rt. 1 in Middletown Closed After Fatal Crash [Updated]

One person is dead and several were hurt after a early-morning accident in Middletown Township.

Northbound Route 1 in Middletown was closed after a multi-vehicle accident left one person dead and others injured. The name of the 25-year-old man killed will the crash is expected to be released afetr his family has been notifyed, police sadid. As of 6:50 a.m., police remained on the scene of the deadly accident that has shutdown all Northbound lanes of the roadway between Maple Avenue and Business Route 1., PennDOT and county officials confirm. According to police, the accident happened just before 5 a.m. and involved two vehicles. Aside from the fatality, the wreck left several people injured, NBC10 reported. Officials from the Parkland Fire Company are assisting police at the scene.

Two Pedestrians Struck by Cars in Middletown on Friday

A 63-year-old man was hit when a car backed up in Middletown Friday morning. A teen was also reported to be struck in the afternoon.

  Police in Middletown were busy Friday dealing with two pedestrian accidents less than two miles apart. At around 5 p.m., officers responded to a report of a person struck by a vehicle in the area of Cobalt Ridge Drive and Candle Road, a county dispatcher confirmed. Police have not released details, but emergency radio reported indicated a 12-year-old boy was hit by a car. His condition is unknown. In the morning, a driver accidentally struck a jogger in the 300 block of Snowball Gate Drive in Middletown, police Sgt. Steve Forman said. The jogger, a 63-year-old man, suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital by the Penndel-Middletown Rescue Squad, Forman told Patch. State police are charging an 18-year-old male from Trevose with DUI following a crash on I-95 that injured himself and a 17-year-old female passenger.

Dirt Bike Rider Who Caused Accident Has DUI Past

A teenager who caused a dirt bike vs. SUV crash in Forsythia Gate in Middletown last week is facing several charges related to the wreck.

  A teen from the Levittown section of Middletown Township was charged late last week in connection with a Wednesday, Oct. 17 dirt bike accident that left him and another teen injured. Richard Costigan IV, 18, had a felony charge of causing an accident involving death or injury filed against him by police. He is also facing lesser charges of recklessly endangering another person, reckless driving, driving without a license and related offenses, according to court records. According to PhillyBurbs.com, Costigan was illegally riding his bike and had just picked up a friend when the accident happened in the area of Rain Lily Road and Forsythia Drive South. Teens Hurt in Forsythia Gate Dirt Bike Crash

Two teens on dirt bikes slammed into a SUV in Middletown.

  Two teens were hurt when their Suzuki dirt bikes slammed into an SUV in the Forsythia Gate section of Middletown Wednesday night, according to Phillyburbs.com. The two teens - both were not wearing protective helmets - were thrown from their dirt bike and suffered several injuries, the website reported. Rain Lily Road and Forsythia Drive South was the reported location of the accident. Calls by Patch for more information from police were not returned Thursday. The operation of dirt bikes is illegal on township streets and some residents find it to be a growing problem.
