Bristol Borough police are looking for a man who stole a woman's purse in the Walmart in Bristol Borough.
Police in Bristol Borough are looking for a man who knocked a woman to the ground and stole her purse Monday night. The strong-arm robbery occurred at the Walmart on Commerce Circle at 7:31 p.m., police said. A suspect knocked the female victim to the ground and stole her purse. He then fled toward Veterans Highway (Route 431) through the Bristol Cemetery, police said. The suspect is described by officials as being a stocky black male between 5-foot-5 and 5-foot-7. A 69-year-old Levittown woman is in critical condition after a serious accident on Route 13.
Bristol Township police released more information Tuesday on the serious traffic accident that happened Sunday night at Route 13 and Edgely Road. A 69-year-old Levittown woman suffered serious injuries in the crash and had to freed by firefighters, police said. The woman was taken to Aria Torresdale Hospital and remains in critical condition. The woman was driving a maroon 1996 Buick Roadmaster north on Edgely Road when a silver 2010 Toyota Corolla driven by a 27-year-old Levittown man on Route 13 struck the Buick at the intersection at 6:14 p.m., police said. A Bristol woman fought with officers when they tried to arrest her last week in Bristol Borough.
Bristol Borough officers responding to reports of an intoxicated individual who fell last Wednesday morning were in for quite a surprise. An arriving patrol officer was greeted by a Bristol woman screaming obscenities and threats outside the Food Pantry on Wood Street, court documents said. Police asked her to stop and she did not, according to court documents. As the officer went inside the food store to check on the fall victim, the 23-year-old followed and was asked by police to leave. A person in charge of the store also requested that she leave, according to an affidavit. Despite the warnings, the woman defied orders and kept coming, police said. Bucks County Deputy Sheriff James Mitchell was honored by the commissioners for helping save a woman from a Lower Bucks County fire.
Bucks County Deputy Sheriff James Mitchell was driving in his blue county vehicle on the afternoon of Dec. 11 in Bristol Township when he heard a radio call for a dwelling fire on Wynfield Avenue. The deputy got to the scene and found the house engulfed in flames. Mitchell and passerby Mark Cook rushed toward the house after watching a woman go back in. She believed another woman was trapped. At the time, Bristol Township Fire Marshal Kevin Dippolito said the woman fought with Mitchell as he tried to get her out of the burning house. The deputy was able to pull the woman, who was later treated for smoke inhalation and burns, from the two-story home. Police, fire and EMS units responded to an accident at Route 13 and Edgely Road in Bristol Township on Sunday.
Emergency crews responded to a serious multi-vehicle accident at Route 13 and Edgely Road in Bristol Township Sunday night. Firefighters responded at around 6:15 p.m. to conduct an auto extrication at the scene, scanner reports indicated. Mulitple vehicles were reported to be invovled. The intersection was blocked for a period of time due to the crash. As of press time, no further information has been released.

A 65-year-old man was placed under arrest in the Croydon section of Bristol Township.
A 65-year-old New York City man was charged with terroristic threats with intent to terrorize another and harassment after an incident at the Croydon Laundromat on Route 13 (Bristol Pike). Bristol Township police responded to the laundromat on Monday, Feb. 11 after they received a harassment call at 10:14 p.m, court records show. The man arrived and confronted an employee who owes him money and told her, "If I don't get my money, I am going to kill you and make you lose your job," according to an affidavit. Bristol Township police have arrested a 47-year-old woman after obtaining a search warrant to measure her level of intoxication after a December accident which left two people injured. Rachel Ann Cheesman, of Welsford Road in Bristol Township's Fairless Hills section, is charged with aggravated assault, aggravated assault by vehicle while DUI, fleeing or eluding an officer, driving under the influence, recklessly endangering another person, reckless driving and related offenses. A middle-aged man is in critical condition after shooting himself Friday night in Bristol Borough.
A middle-aged Bristol Borough man shot himself and then asked a responding police officer to kill him Friday night. The man, who police have had contact with before, is in critical condition at Aria Hospital after a self-inflected gunshot wound to the head, Detective Sgt. Randy Morris said. According to Morris, arriving officers found the seriously wounded man walking and pleading for them to shoot him dead. Morris commended the officer on how the situation was handled.
