County Reminds Residents of Rabies Precautions

With the weather warming up and hikers and campers taking to the open air, the Bucks County Health Department urges caution around animals.

The following was provided by the Bucks County Health Department: From its plentiful parks and its scenic natural vistas, bucolic Bucks County provides many opportunities to co-exist with animal life. Hiking, camping, even walking your dog through the neighborhood allows increased insight to the many varied species of animals that share our community home. Unfortunately, with the prominent cohabitation comes a risk. Rabies have been reported in Pennsylvania for more than two decades, and the Bucks County Commissioners continue to join the educational efforts of the Health Department by spreading the word to be mindful of safety protocols when around animals - both wild and domestic - this spring and summer. More Mosquito Spraying in Bristol Tonight

For the last week, the county health department has concentrated spraying for mosquitoes in Bristol Township. It resumes tonight, Sept. 13, at 7:30 p.m.

The Bucks County Health Department, under the direction of the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, will conduct an adult mosquito spray tonight, Sept. 13 between 7:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. - weather permitting - in Bristol Township. The spray will begin at 7:30 p.m. and will be limited to the following sections: Violetwood and Magnolia Hill.  These sections will be sprayed by truck mounted sprayer.    The vehicles to be used will be a green 1997 Chevy pickup truck and a Green Ford Ranger pickup truck.  Both vehicles will be marked with the Bucks County Health Department logo.  The chemical to be applied will be Masterline Kontrol 4-4. County to Spray in Bristol Township for Mosquitos

The Bucks County Health Department will spray the Croydon area of Bristol Township for adult mosquitoes on Monday, July 9.

There have been no human cases of West Nile virus in Pennsylvania so far this year, according to the state Department of Environmental Protection, but three mosquitoes have been collected in Bucks County with the disease. For mosquito control, the Bucks County Health Department, in conjunction with the DEP, will conduct an adult mosquito spray on Monday, July 9, between 7:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. - weather permitting - in the Croydon area of Bristol Township. The borders of the spray will be from Neshaminy State Park to Cedar Avenue to the north, the Delaware River to the east and State Road to the West. The vehicles to be used will be a blue Ford Ranger pickup in the lead position, followed by a green Chevy truck with the sprayer. Both …

Spraying will be between 7:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.

  The Bucks County Health Department, in conjunction with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), will conduct an adult mosquito spray on Friday, July 16, from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. – weather permitting. According to a release, the area to be treated in Bristol Township includes Newport Rd. to Rogers Rd. (413) and over to Broadway Ave. The Bristol Garden Apartments and Snowden Park will also included in this spray event, according to the news release. County To Spray For Mosquitoes In Bristol Township Today

Spraying will begin at dusk weather permitting.

The Bucks County Health Department, in conjunction with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), will conduct an adult mosquito spray on Friday, Sept. 16, beginning at dusk – weather permitting. According to a release, the area to be treated in Bristol Township includes all of Winder Village as well as Fayette Drive to Bayard Street, Bayard Street, Fairview Avenue, Merlin Street, Pike, Old Orchard Lane, Tower Road, Apple Road and King Street. A section of West Bristol that includes Snowden Avenue, Dixon Avenue, Camervon Avenue, Western Westminster Avenue, Westwood Avenue, Western Avenue, Park Avenue, Westview Avenue, Llanberis Avenue and Arthur Avenue will also be included in this spray event, according to the news …

Middletown Township's Snowball Gate Section To Be Sprayed For Mosquitoes

The Bucks County Health Department will conduct the adult mosquito spray beginning at dusk on Tuesday.

All streets within the Snowball Gate section in Middletown Township will be treated for adult mosquitoes. According to a news release, the Bucks County Health Department will conduct the adult mosquito spray beginning at dusk on Tuesday -- weather permitting. Two vehicles will be involved in the treatment, a green Chevrolet pickup truck and a Ford Ranger pickup truck (both bearing the Bucks County seal).
