No Grand Plans for Record Store Day

Positively Records is participating in the national Record Store Day on Saturday, but is not giving away beer, or hosting live entertainment.

For all intents and purposes, Saturday will be a regular day at Positively Records in Levittown. Except for one thing: The designation as Record Store Day means 10 to 20 people will likely be lined up outside the 30 x 90 Levittown shop at 4153 Woerner Ave., awaiting its opening at 11 a.m., according to Doug Meginley. "We’re just planning to sell for our customers the stuff they’re eager to get their hands on," Meginley told Patch, adding that some other independent music stores give away beer and stage live music. "We don’t do things. The store is just too physically small." The 26-year-old store, which specializes in new, used and rare CDs and DVDs, has been participating in the national Record Store Day for the last five or six years, …

Estee Lauder Plans to Expand, Add Jobs at Bristol Township Facility

New jobs are expected to be added to Bristol Township when Estee Lauder expands their facility.

A 53,865-square-foot addition onto a building at the Keystone Industrial Park is expected to bring at least 40 new jobs to Bristol Township, officials said. Township council last week approved plans for Estee Lauder to add on to their current facility. All the council members approved, except for Amber Longhitano. The councilwoman was away attending to personal matters, Council President Bob Lewis said. The company was willing to pay fees in lieu of trees and sidewalks, but Councilman Rick Pluta said the fees should be waived, as Estee Lauder is merely building an addition. The results are in for this week's Readers' Choice poll and Durham Deli in Levittown claims the top spot for Best Hoagie Shop In Levittown. With a total of 131 votes casted, Durham Deli took 34 percent of the total votes or 45 votes. Hoagie Xpress claimed second place with 30 votes or 22 percent of the total. Wawa Food Market took third place with 20 percent or 27 votes. Bucks Tourism Agency Announces Awards, Grants

Visit Bucks County celebrates National Tourism Day.

Visit Bucks County, the county’s official tourism promotion agency, celebrated National Tourism Day on May 8 by giving away awards and money. Tourism officials and business partners met at the Bucks County Visitor Center on Street Road near Parx Casino in Bensalem. The event was one of 75 similar ones nationwide celebrating the industry for Tourism Day. Visit Bucks Executive Director Jerry Lepping noted that "tourism in Bucks County supports 11,000 jobs and generates $814 million in the local economy." In honor of National Tourism Day, Lepping spoke of the group's participation in a national tourism effort and its specific marketing campaign in New York and North Jersey promoting tourism in Bucks County. Comcast To Celebrate Grand Opening Of Langhorne Xfinity Store

Comcast says interactive center will highlight company's continued commitment to improving the customer experience.
