Nearly 700 Pennsbury Singers To Take Center Stage

Big Sing IV takes place in the Princeton University Chapel at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

  Nearly 700 Pennsbury singers are set to perform in the Big Sing IV this Wednesday.  All seven of PHS choirs, including Pennsbury Middle School Honor Choir, will be featured in the concert event.  The Pennsbury High School Choral Music Department presents the event, now in its fourth year. Singers will perform with their respective choirs and then, collectively at the close of the performance.  For the finale, the choirs will sing He Watching Over Israel from Felix Mendelssohn's oratorio Elijah, and All Shall Be Amen and Alleluia by British composer James Whitbourn. This piece was commissioned by the Pennsbury Community Chorus and the PHS Choral Department for the first Big Sing concert in 2009, according to PHS Director of Choral …

Charles Boehm Middle School Holds Spring Concert

Musicians and Vocalist in grades six though eighth grades perform to perfection for a packed house

Families of Charles Boehm Middle School students were treated to their annual Spring Concert. The Wednesday evening opened with the orchestra followed by vocal performances by the sixth grade chorus, the Young Women of Note, the Men’s Chorus, seventh and eight grade chorus with a grand finale from the entire choir singing Seasons of Love.

PHS Falconaires Presented With $5K Check

B101 Mascot Buzzbee Presents Check At PHS

The Pennsbury Falconairs were presented with a $5,000 check from radio station B101. Buzzbee, the B101 mascot, came to Pennsbury High School Tuesday to present the check to PHS West Principal Lisa Becker, vocal music teacher Elizabeth Hohwieler and the Falconairs. The singing group won the award in December during the Christmas Choir Competition, hosted by morning personalities Tiffany & Michael, because they placed among the top three choirs. The money will be used to help support the high school music program.

The Pennsbury High School Falconairs looked to take it to the Kimmel Center, but failed to get all the votes they needed in the final hours before B101.1 announced the winner of their Christmas Choir Competition. The competition came to a wrap Friday morning when the radio station announced a winner among three choir finalists during the Morning Show with Tiffany & Michael at 7 a.m. The Falconairs performed their rendition of Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy during Tuesday's morning show, competing against two other choirs that day. Pennsbury Community Chorus Brings 'Sounds Of The Season'

The Pennsbury Community Chorus played before residents in the area during their annual holiday concert at Pennsbury High School West.

The Pennsbury Community Chorus played before residents in the area during their annual holiday concert at Pennsbury High School West. Sunday's Sounds of the Season concert featured organ, brass, percussion and choir. It was lead by musical director James D. Moyer. The program included several pieces such as O Come All Ye Faithful, Christmas Cantata, There Shall A Star Come Out Of Jacob, Gloria and Hark! The Herald Angels Sing. The Pennsbury Community Chorus was founded in 2000 and is made up of 60 to 100 residents including Pennsbury students, graduates, teachers, parents, staff and friends of the community. Falconairs To Perform Winter Concert

The Pennsbury High School Falconairs choir is gearing up for their winter performance.

Fresh off competing on Tuesday morning's B101 Christmas Choir competition, the Pennsbury High School Falconairs choir is gearing up for their winter performance. The ladies will be performing an array of holiday songs for their audience. "This Things Shall Never Die -- it's a really beautiful song and we sang it like twice I think," senior Hannah Frank said. The Falconairs is a select women's group made up of grades 10 to 12. The 33-member group meets once a week after school.   "I like mostly the people in the choir which is nice. "We're all friends," one senior member said. The name Falconairs was taken from the first Pennsbury chorus that was the "select" chorus.   "It had been retired for a few years and I chose it to honor Mrs. …
