Graduates were told how hard work, honesty, a desire to always keep learning and surrounding yourself with good mentors can make anything possible.
"The world doesn’t owe any of you anything." Those were the words Bucks County Community College Board of Trustees Chairman J. Peter Dominick had for the hundreds of students who graduated from the college Thursday evening. In addition, Dominick told the students that life is long and the students' journey is just beginning. Good work ethic, teamwork and leadership are some of the most important skills needed to succeed in the real world, he said. Bucks County Community College will celebrate its 46th annual commencement Thursday at 6 p.m. at the Newtown Campus. Fred Beans, president of Fred Beans Family of Dealerships, will be the commencement speaker. Nearly 900 students are expected to graduate during Thursday's ceremony. A life-long Bucks County resident, Beans heads an extensive automotive organization that includes 19 dealerships selling 17 automobile brands. Based in Doylestown, the group also owns and operates Fred Beans Collision Centers, AutoExpress of Doylestown, NAPA of Doylestown, Autorent of Doylestown, and Fred Beans Parts Warehouse. Lock Haven University held its 2011 winter commencement ceremony on Dec. 17. University President Michael Fiorentino Jr. presented a total of 307 degrees to candidates from the College of Arts and Sciences and the College of Education and Human Services. Among those receiving degrees was Levittown native Ashley M. Lindenberger who earned a Bachelor of Science degree. The event’s keynote speaker was Pennsylvania State Sen. John N. Sonju is the co-founder and retired President and General Manager of the Dallas Mavericks and the Dallas Sidekicks. Hundreds of Pennsbury High School students were granted their diplomas during commencement at the school’s Falcon Field. Speakers Jane He, John Eric Bukowski and Class President Gabriel Hirsh spoke during the Wednesday evening commencement. According to Pennsbury Communications Director Ann Langtry, of the 826 graduates, 93 percent will move on to higher education and 2.2 percent will enter the military. This year’s graduating class, according to Langtry, accepted more than $6.2 million in scholarship money.

Hundreds of seniors participated in Truman High School’s commencement Friday night.
Hundreds of seniors participated in Truman High School’s commencement Friday night. There were 360 graduates. Of those graduating, 86 percent will move on to higher education, four percent plan on going into the military, according to Bristol Township School District Director of Public Relations and Outreach Eileen Kelliher. This year’s Valedictorian was Briley Acker and Cierra Lees was Salutorian.

More than 760 students graduated from Neshaminy High School last night as temperatures hovered around 95 degree mark.
High heat and humidity did not stop friends and family from filling the school’s football stadium for the 116th annual commencement ceremony Wednesday evening. After four years of hard work, graduation day arrived for the 762 seniors of Neshaminy High School.
