Police Dragnet Nabs 2 in PECO Copper Thefts

Two 29-year-olds have been arrested by a police task force in connection with an alleged copper theft in Levittown.

A police task force made up of officers from several departments arrested a Bristol Township man and a Falls woman in connection with the theft of copper from a PECO substation. Jamie Lynn Brown and Jason Pallis, both 29, were apprehended by authorities and are accused of stealing copper wiring from Middletown’s Durham substation on Oxford Valley Road in November, according to court records filed last week. Police said the duo cut a hole in fence at the substation with bolt cutters and stole the copper ground wire. Between the property damage and missing copper, PECO took a hit of $7,000, authorities said. Copper ground wire is used to protect life and safeguard power grid by acting as a safe path for excess electricity to disperse. It is …

Police Say Nearly $6K Worth Of Copper Stolen From Cell Tower

Middletown Township police reported a series of thefts. Cricket Wireless told police that nearly $6,000 worth of copper was stolen from a cell tower behind the Park Plaza Shopping Center. Two Echo trimmers were taken from an open trailer parked on Cobalt Ridge Drive South and Cobalt Cross Road sometime between midnight and 7:15 a.m. on Monday. The trimmers are valued at $450.  Someone took a Tom-Tom GPS and change from an unlocked Chrysler, parked on Apple Street, sometime between 7 p.m. Sunday and 5 p.m. Monday, police reported. The estimated loss is valued at $100.  A victim reported to police that someone took various household items and approximately $7 in cash from two unlocked vehicles parked on Harmony Road and sometime overnight …

Copper Pipe Crime Wave Continues In Levittown

A copper piping crime wave continues to sweep through Levittown, Bristol Township police report. Sometime this week, police said someone entered a property on Dogwood Drive in Levittown and stole a large quantity of copper piping. In addition, police said that sometime between the beginning of April to April 8 someone entered a location on Red Cedar Drive in Levittown, stealing a bundle of loose copper piping. Sometime on April 8, someone removed an external air conditioning unit from the side of a residence on Green Lane. Police said the victim also reported a stolen car battery.
