Pennsbury falls short of title appearance in loss to North Penn.
Lansdale—There is no asset more valuable to a football team than experience in big time game situations. This was something the Knights made blatantly obvious Friday night, as tenth seeded North Penn slammed the door shut on the Cinderella season of Pennsbury by a tally of 27-3 in the PIAA District One Semi-Final. Led by a sensational performance from senior Dan Gevirtz, who had a hand in all four Knights touchdowns, North Penn advanced to the District One Championship game for the eighth time in ten years. North Penn (11-2) who won their tenth game in a row, took control of the line of scrimmage from the outset. On the opening play from scrimmage, James Fielder broke off a 43 yard run setting up a first-and-goal. Two plays later, Gevirtz …

Cal Ripken Babe Ruth Pennsylvania State Tournament report
Lower Makefield Falcons shortstop Tommy Meyer didn’t sleep well Friday night, in fact he got almost none, as the Pterodactyl-sized butterflies in his belly prevented a quiet slumber. In the Pennsylvania State Cal Ripken Babe Ruth tournament opener featuring host Pennsbury and the Doylestown Tigers, it was Meyer that raced home in the bottom of the seventh sliding into home just ahead of the tag to give the Falcons a 7-6 come from behind win. Meyer had previously scored a go ahead run, after doubling in the bottom of the fifth, before Doylestown knotted the game at six on a two out RBI single by Mike Sigley, scoring Carson Schweitzer, who had walked in the top of the sixth. After a scoreless at bat by the Tigers, Meyer roped a double into …

Despite a strong third quarter comeback, the Pennsbury boys basketball team came out on the losing end in a league clash with Bensalem.
The Pennsbury Falcons boys basketball team forgot that a game lasts four quarters. If it were only two quarters then, the Falcons would have edged rival Bensalem Friday. Instead, Bensalem took advantage of its size and hot hand from the floor, downing the Falcons 60-46 in a Suburban One League National Conference clash. The battle on Street Road saw the Owls soar to a lead they never relinquished in the opener of the second half of the league schedule. "We want 32 minutes and we haven’t gotten to that mark yet. We got 16 tonight," Falcons first-year coach Bill Coleman said. "We have to start the game right from the get-go and that’s what put us in a hole tonight." The digging of the hole began from the floor. Pennsbury sank three of 10 …

Two teams tried to find their identity in a rare Saturday afternoon basketball matchup.
Two teams tried to find their identity in a rare Saturday afternoon basketball matchup. Playing on their home court, Central Bucks West (4-4) was able to overcome a furious comeback by Pennsbury (3-7). The Lady Bucks, who were led by Sam Colloi’s 20 points held off Pennsbury's Sajanna Bethea, with 12 points, and the Lady Falcons who trailed the whole game. At one point, the Falcons trailed by double-digits, but cut the deficit by three points late in the fourth quarter. However, the Bucks were able to withstand the late surge and pulled away for a 53-47 victory. This was a very physical game from both sides as each team was in the bonus from early in the fourth quarter. Pennsbury also had some nice scoring from Jae Jackson, with 11 points…
