The Philadelphia Phillies have announced they will dedicate their home game on May 29 to the memory of 12-year-old Bailey O'Neill, who died as a result of injuries sustained during a playground bullying incident in March. "We extended the invite to the O'Neill family, and they graciously accepted," said Scott Palmer, Public Affairs Director for the Philadelphia Phillies. A man was killed after an apparent industrial accident in Falls Township.
A man was killed Monday afternoon at the CSC Sugar processing facility on Roebling Road at the old U.S. Steel site in Falls Township. The man, whose name and age has not been released, was missing for an extended period of time before he was found in a large hopper, according to scanner reports. A emergency service source said the victim was found dead and firefighters were working to try to recover the body. Employees of the facility notified 911 of the incident just after 2:30 p.m. and crews were on-scene minutes after. Video shot by television news helicopters over the scene, which is situated in an area closed to the public, showed various fire and police vehicles at the CSC facility.

A Bensalem woman was charged Wednesday with numerous offenses in connection with a deadly motorcycle crash that happened along Newportville Road.
More than three months after the Newportville Road motorcycle crash that claimed the life of Bristol Township resident John Chester and forever altered the life of his girlfriend, Brianna O’Driscoll, the woman accused of causing the wreck was arrested. Devon Crispo, 26, of Bensalem, turned herself in at the Bristol Township Police Department Wednesday morning on several serious charges, including homicide by vehicle while under the influence. The fatal accident happened at 7:35 p.m. on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 as Chester rode his red 1993 Harley Davidson motorcycle on Newportville Road, toward Route 13, with O’Driscoll on the back. The two victims in Saturday's fatal accident in Upper Bucks County have been identified by police. One victim is from the Croydon section of Bristol Township. The driver of the Chevrolet Cavalier involved in the crash was identified as Stacy Byrne, 32, of Prospect Avenue of Croydon, police said. The driver of the Toyota Camry — which hit the Cavalier from behind, struck a rock and went airborne — is identified as Mary E. Dodds, 49, of the 100 block of Damson Lane, Montgomery Township, police said. The passenger in the Cavalier who was injured was Byrne's husband, Ian Byrne. A Bristol Township resident died from injuries sustained when she was hit by a car. Bristol Borough police are investigating the accident.
A Bristol Township woman has passed away from injuries sustained when she was struck by a car in Bristol Borough. Christina “Tina” Szymanek, 60, of Bath Road, was walking along the southbound shoulder of Route 13 when she was struck by a car driven by a Croydon resident at 5:28 p.m. on Friday, according to borough police. The victim was taken by ambulance to Aria Health's Torresdale hospital. She died several hours later, police reported on Tuesday. The driver is cooperating with the ongoing police investigation and the District Attorney’s Office is reviewing the incident. Authorities have not released further details on the crash.
