Firefighter, 2 Residents Hospitalized After Goldenridge Drive House Fire

Bristol Township firefighters reported to a dwelling fire on Wednesday night.

A firefighter and two residents were taken to the hospital after Bristol Township Firefighters reported to a dwelling fire on Goldenridge Drive on Wednesday, according to the township's fire marshall. "Two residents were transported to the hospital," Fire Marshall Kevin Dippolito said. "The male had a minor injury to the forehead, otherwise they were transported for percaution." A firefighter was also taken to the hospital, he said. He was injured while attempting a search ont he second floor of the home, located at 19 Goldenridge Drive in Levittown. The status of the three people's condition is not available at this time. "Crews were dispatched at 8:43 p.m.," Dippolito said. "The fire was contained to a bedroom on the first floor." …

Funeral Arrangements Set for Man Killed in Falls Fire

Peter J. Kerner III died during a fire Sunday night at a mobile home in Falls Township.

The family of the 65-year-old man killed in Sunday night's fire at a mobile home on Foster Road has invited friends and relatives to his memorial service at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, 41 W. Trenton Road in Morrisville, according to the obituary posted on the funeral home's website. The interment of Peter J. Kerner will be held privately. A biography posted about Kerner describes him as somebody blessed with natural leadership qualities that helped him motivate others to succeed: "Peter J. Possible Arson at Oxford Valley Mall Under Investigation

The fire occurred in a stock room at the mall Monday morning.

Officials from the Middletown Police Department and Fire Marshal's office are currently investigating the cause of a stockroom fire at the Oxford Valley Mall Monday morning. According to reports, the blaze is being investigated as a possible arson. Middletown Fire Marshal James McGuire could not confirm if the fire had a suspicious nature, commenting that the incident is under investigation. According to McGuire, the alarm went out at 10:48 a.m. when the fire broke out in a back stockroom on the upper level of the mall, nearby the Sears section of the complex. The mall's sprinkler system quickly extinguished the flames, and there was minimal smoke damage to the area. Customers were briefly evacuated from the building and allowed back in …

Fairless Hills Home Damaged by Flames

A fire damaged a home under renovation in Falls Township on Tuesday night.

A contractor working on tile inside a home in the 200 block of Doone Road in the Fairless Hills section of Falls Township was alerted to a fire by a knocking sound Tuesday night, officials said. The sound, which may have saved the contractor's life, was made by a fast-moving fire that started outside the house and quickly spread into the attic, Fire Marshal Rich Dippolito said. The home was in the final stages of being renovated and a family was expected to settle in the house in a few days time, Dippolito said. The fire marshal said he is still investigating what caused the fire. However, it was determined the fire emanated from a pile of construction debris outside. Woman Critical After Sunday Route 13 Crash

A 69-year-old Levittown woman is in critical condition after a serious accident on Route 13.

Bristol Township police released more information Tuesday on the serious traffic accident that happened Sunday night at Route 13 and Edgely Road. A 69-year-old Levittown woman suffered serious injuries in the crash and had to freed by firefighters, police said. The woman was taken to Aria Torresdale Hospital and remains in critical condition. The woman was driving a maroon 1996 Buick Roadmaster north on Edgely Road when a silver 2010 Toyota Corolla driven by a 27-year-old Levittown man on Route 13 struck the Buick at the intersection at 6:14 p.m., police said. As of press time, police have released no information on charges. Route 13 was closed between Upper Beaver Dam Road and Haines Road until 10:50 p.m. Police were assisted at the scene…

Deputy Sheriff Honored for Saving Woman From Blaze

Bucks County Deputy Sheriff James Mitchell was honored by the commissioners for helping save a woman from a Lower Bucks County fire.

Bucks County Deputy Sheriff James Mitchell was driving in his blue county vehicle on the afternoon of Dec. 11 in Bristol Township when he heard a radio call for a dwelling fire on Wynfield Avenue. The deputy got to the scene and found the house engulfed in flames. Mitchell and passerby Mark Cook rushed toward the house after watching a woman go back in. She believed another woman was trapped. At the time, Bristol Township Fire Marshal Kevin Dippolito said the woman fought with Mitchell as he tried to get her out of the burning house. The deputy was able to pull the woman, who was later treated for smoke inhalation and burns, from the two-story home. Commissioner Diane Marseglia awarded Mitchell with a commendation at the most recent county…

Extrication Required for Route 13 Accident

Police, fire and EMS units responded to an accident at Route 13 and Edgely Road in Bristol Township on Sunday.

Emergency crews responded to a serious multi-vehicle accident at Route 13 and Edgely Road in Bristol Township Sunday night. Firefighters responded at around 6:15 p.m. to conduct an auto extrication at the scene, scanner reports indicated. Mulitple vehicles were reported to be invovled. The intersection was blocked for a period of time due to the crash. As of press time, no further information has been released.

Dog Dies in Wisteria Lane House Fire

A dog was killed in a fire in the Willowood section of Falls Township on Monday night.

A Shih Tzu was killed in a house fire on Wisteria Lane in the Willowood section of Falls Township Monday night. Fire crews arrived to the house on the corner of Wisteria Lane and Willow Drive at 7:20 p.m. to find heavy flames coming from the one-story structure, officials said. Township Fire Marshal Richard Dippolito said crews went into service and had the fire under control before 8 p.m. No injures were reported and the residents were not home at the time, Dippolito said. Investigators are eyeing the fireplace as the point of origin for the fire, which started in a rear sunroom addition, Dippolito told Patch.
